2018

2018 – The year is not quite over but 23rd October is our birthday so we thought it was a perfect time to give you an update on all the amazing things we have achieved. Looking back over the past 12 months, we couldn’t be more proud of our volunteers, supporters and families. Without you, there will be no us – thank you!

Here is a run through of all the awesome things we have accomplished just this year alone – and we have so many exciting things planned for 2019!

Our team of heroes have given up countless hours over the past 12 months to help families dealing with severe illness. They have helped with household chores from cleaning to gardening, shopping and even taking the kids out to play.
We have welcomed 34 amazing individuals into our team this year – with another 12 currently awaiting training and DBS checks.
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation which is why we call them Smile Heroes

Our aim was always to help as many families as possible and with your continued support, we are bringing smiles to more families than ever before.

Although we started off helping parents with young children, we have recently extended our support to the most vulnerable families across the UK including those without children.

2018 Has Been An Amazing Year For Us

We have had referrals from family support departments, social services, schools, other charities and we continue to work closely with other organisations to reach out to those who may benefit from our support.

We are currently supporting parents/vulnerable families across the UK to help boost their mental and physical health as well as improve their quality of life.

Our intervention practical support is ongoing with the aim of helping each family breath better and live better.

2018

We are recruiting more volunteers and expanding our outreach so that we can continue to offer support to our current families and future families.

We sent a family of four, who had never been on holiday, to Spain for a week of luxury sponsored by CLC World Resorts and Hotels.

Wishes Granted in 2018

We also helped 10-year-old Teddi and her terminally ill mother to meet Olly Murs whose music kept them going during difficult times.

In the summer, we granted the wishes of three young children who wanted a day out to Adventure Park with their parents.

We also helped 10-year-old Titobi Adeleye, with the help of the renowned book publishers DVG Star, to fulfil her dreams of being published. Her book, The First Discovery, is now available on Amazon.

With your continued support, we hope to grant many more wishes in 2019.

We are very thankful for all the amazing support you have given us this year. We could not reach out to as many families without your support and donations.Thank you to fantastic organisations such as Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s and Mothercare for supporting us.

Our plans for 2019 include mindset and confidence coaching and active life workshops. We plan to run these events for the children and families we support to help them develop confidence and skills for life. Keep up to date with all our news and updates here >>

We are also expanding our reach internationally. We have some exciting news about our recent project in Myanmar which you can read all about here.
